We are a husband and wife photography team based near Harpenden, on the outskirts of Wheathampstead. With a passion for capturing natural, timeless images that reflect personalities and tell stories, we have been running our photography business for 18 years.
Specialising in a variety of photography genres, including Pregnancy & Newborn, Children & Families, Weddings, Corporate branding, and Pet photography.
We prefer shooting on location, using the natural environment as our studio to create authentic and unique images. Our mini shoot sessions, held at picturesque locations like the private bluebell wood at Hammonds End Farm, have been a popular choice for family clients for over 15 years.
For newborn sessions, we have a home studio that provides a relaxed and comfortable setting for capturing precious moments with care and attention to detail.
With a combined background in photography and a shared love for storytelling through our work, we are dedicated to capturing each family's unique story in a way that is personal, meaningful, and timeless.

"If you're looking for a newborn photographer in the Welwyn Garden City area, look no further than Ian Scott Photography. It was honestly one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had - and we have young baby twins! With that little handful, you might think this shoot would have been a little chaotic; however, it was anything but. We received the most warm welcome at Ian and Emma's wonderful home studio in Wheathampstead. They offered us the most delicious coffee and biscuits too, which always goes down well :) And the images? They are absolutely beautiful. At the time of writing, I am gazing up at the wall to the right of me and marvelling at the moments in time they have captured for us. There were so many amazing images to choose from, that we were actually spoiled for choice. We plan to go back for another shoot when the twins are a little older. Thanks to the both of you for having us and making us feel so welcome."

"We've had the pleasure of working with Ian and Emma twice now, once for our wedding in 2019 and again recently for a newborn shoot for our baby girl. We could not recommend them enough. They are so professional and their photographs are beautiful, but what we most appreciate is how lovely they are to work with! A newborn shoot has the potential to be stressful as a new parent who has barely figured out how to leave the house yet, but Ian and Emma made it the most enjoyable experience. We were totally at ease and actually found the shoot so calming and relaxing, it was one of our favourite days so far in our baby girl's life, and we left the shoot with our hearts feeling so full and feeling incredibly peaceful from the environment they created in their home studio for the shoot. The photos are amazing and have given us some beautiful memories for life. Would thoroughly recommend! "
